Goochland waiving brush disposal fees through Sunday

GOOCHLAND COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Goochland County is waiving brush disposal fees through the weekend to clean up the Central and Western Convenience Centers following the severe storms earlier in March.

According to a social post from the county's Facebook page, this waiver will last until Sunday, March 30, and only applies to Goochland residents -- not commercial entities or operations.

The county's website states that, as scheduled, the Central and Western Convenience Centers are open from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday through Sunday.

The centers, which are maintained and managed by the county, are available for household trash disposal and recyclables for free. However, the county says certain items have a disposal fee, including air conditioners, automobile tires, refrigerators and other appliances containing Freon and brush items.

The Central Convenience Center is located at 1908 Hidden Rock Lane in Maidens, and the Western Convenience Center is located at 3455 Hadensville-Fife Road in Goochland.
