Hanover County to honor caregivers, families with free expo and resources
HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- As part of National Family Caregiver Appreciation Month, Hanover County is inviting caregivers and families to the free Caregiver Expo on Nov. 17.
From 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 17, the Richmond-area community can gather for the fourth annual Caregiver Expo at First Baptist Church of Ashland, located at 800 Thompson Street.
Presented by Hanover Council on Aging, Hanover Department of Community Resources and The SPAN Center, the event celebrates and supports caregivers by offering education, resources and connections to local organizations, according to a release.
Attendees can enjoy refreshments and visit more than 30 exhibitors who provide caregiver services and support.
Organizers added that various presentations will cover topics such as fall prevention, veterans` benefits, caregiver wellness and nutrition.
The free exposition will also feature a "Moment of Gratitude" activity, honoring caregivers, as well as opportunities to win door prizes.
