Heavy winds take down multiple trees in Caroline County

CAROLINE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Heavy winds from Monday night's severe thunderstorms have taken down multiple trees in Caroline County.

On Monday, March 31, severe thunderstorms hit the Central Virginia area.

The National Weather Service (NWS) provides local storm reports on damage from severe weather. At 8:47 p.m. on Monday, one such local report was issued for Caroline.

The report states that, per 911 callers, there are multiple trees down at the intersection of Lauraville and Newtown roads in Caroline as of 8:15 p.m. on Monday.

As of the time of reporting, Caroline County is under a severe thunderstorm warning until 9:15 p.m. Monday. Said warning could be extended by the NWS. Stay with 8News as our StormTracker8 team continues to provide updates.
