Henrico County now accepting preschool applications

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Henrico County Public Schools has began accepting applications for its Early Learning Preschool Program for the 2025-26 school year. According to HCPS, the Early Learning Preschool Program is provided at 22 of the school division's elementary schools. The Pre-K program is a full day program that operates on HCPS' calendar and school hours. The application will be open until Tuesday, Aug. 5. For families that would like to apply after the deadline, they will be considered in the waitlist. The school division expressed that through this program students will gain literacy skills and self-developments skills to help shape them into global citizens. Requirements: Children are required to be 4-years-old before or on Sept. 30, 2025 Must live in Henrico County Students who live in the same zone of a HCPS school with a preschool will be considered first Families will also need to meet income and other requirements for the Virginia Preschool Initiative For more information about the application and eligibility requirements, visit the HCPS' Preschool page.
