Henrico County Public Schools to host Wellness Festival for students and families

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Henrico County Public Schools (HCPS) is inviting students and families to attend the Wellness Festival Wednesday evening, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Oak Avenue Complex.

The event's main focus is on supporting mental health awareness during the summer break, and comes just in time for Mental Health Awareness Month.

According to the school system's Facebook post, students and families can expect an evening of interactive activities aimed at supporting mental health, exploring fun ways to stay balanced and healthy with experiences, prizes and giveaways from local community partners.

Earlier in May, community members attended the Opportunity Fest at the ACE Center at Hermitage High School for what the school system said were free resources, connections and fun ahead of the summer.

The school division says this is all designed to make this summer a healthier and happier one.
