Henrico County to host Winter Emergency Preparedness Event

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- To help residents prepare for winter weather, the Henrico County Department of Outreach and Engagement will host a Winter Emergency Preparedness Event on Tuesday. According to the department, the event will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 21, to help residents prepare for cold, snowy and icy weather in winter. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at Fairfield Area Library, located at 1401 Laburnum Avenue. Attendees can expect to learn more from experts about the following topics: Preparing for a winter weather emergency Safe driving during winter conditions How to weatherize your home for cold weather Managing homeowners and renters insurance after a winter storm A livestream will be available to watch online for those unable to attend in person.
