Henrico invites public to Lakeside area design event
HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Henrico County is inviting community members to the Lakeside Area Design Charrette, set for later in August, to discuss the business corridor.
The four-day event will be held from Monday, Aug. 25, to Thursday, Aug. 28, in the Kelly Education Center auditorium at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, located at 1800 Lakeside Avenue.
According to the county, participants can provide input and discuss their ideas with staff at the event in a charrette -- a hands-on learning process that "encourages public participation and facilitates collaboration" on a vision for the community.
Conducted by Henrico’s Planning Department in partnership with Glavé & Holmes Architecture, the event will focus on the business corridor that extends along Lakeside Avenue from Henrico’s border with the city of Richmond, near Bryan Park, to Hilliard Road, as well as Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden and Lakeside Park Club.
The following are the public input sessions later this month
- From 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 25: Participants will meet the project team and offer initial thoughts on topics and properties of interest.
- From 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 26: Participants will observe design work underway.
