Henrico man wins $500,000 from Virginia Lottery, local store gets a bonus

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A Henrico County man is taking home half a million dollars after a recent Virginia Lottery drawing -- and the store he bought the ticket from got a little something, too. Lorenzo Robinson of Henrico won $500,000 after taxes in a Nov. 13 drawing of the Virginia Lottery's "Bank a Million" game, according to a Dec. 19 press release from the agency. His ticket matched all of the winning numbers, which were 4-5-7-10-15-29 -- meaning he didn't even need the bonus ball number of 32. Robinson bought his ticket from the Varina Market, located at 4110 Darbytown Road in the Varina area of Henrico. According to the Virginia Lottery, on Dec. 19, the retailer was given a $10,000 bonus for selling that winning ticket. Its prizes -- which are as high as $1 million -- are calculated so that, after taxes, the prize amount is what the winner actually receives, according to the Virginia Lottery.
