Henrico police identify victim in deadly crash involving moped
HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Henrico Police is investigating a deadly crash involving a moped that occurred on Halloween night. At approximately 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 31, Henrico police responded to the intersection of Dill Road and Vawter Avenue for a a report of a crash involving a sedan and a 3-wheeler moped. When officers arrived on the scene, they located both drivers in the eastbound lanes of Dill Road, according to police. The adult male driver of the moped was transported to a nearby hospital for what was at the time considered non-life-threatening injuries. However, on Nov. 3, the adult male died to injuries from the crash. Police identified the victim as 73-year-old Walter Allen Miller of Henrico. Police said the investigation determined that both vehicles were driving eastbound on Dill Road when the sedan hit the moped in the rear end. Speed has not appeared to be a factor in this incident.
