Henrico seniors signed ceremonial letters at a Letter-of-Intent Signing Day
HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Henrico County Public Schools high school seniors and potential future employers signed letters Tuesday at this year's Career and Technical Education (CTE) Letter-of-Intent Signing Day.
The school division’s three Advanced Career Education Centers have given seniors the skills needed before entering the workforce, with the actual day showcasing what students "must do before and during employment, what the employer will provide in pay and training, and an estimate of the position’s value," according to a release from the school district.

Marcie Shea, Henrico School Board chair and Tuckahoe District representative, thanked “the staff, for sharing your expertise, and growing passion and skill within our students. For our families, for supporting your students on this journey. For our businesses, for partnering in authentic ways — and hiring our students today. And most of all, our students. We celebrate your hard work and dedication.”
According to the school district, of the 1,704 who completed their career and technical edition programs in 2024, all graduated on time -- except one.
Previously, the letter-of-intent signing day was held at Junior Achievement Finance Park. Eleven programs were recognized in various areas, such as masonry, fire science, and early childhood education. The event has led to other events throughout the U.S. and Canada.
