Hockett Road in Goochland to close for pipe replacement project

GOOCHLAND COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- If weather permits, a section of Hockett Road in Goochland will be closed for pipe replacement.

According to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), a section of Hockett Road between Hamlet Road and Tuckahoe Creek Parkway will be closed overnight for a pipe replacement project. The closure is expected to take place starting at 8 a.m. on Monday, March 31, through 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1.

Homeowners will still be able to access their properties during the operation.

VDOT recommends drivers to take the following detours:

  • Northbound: Head west on Tuckahoe Creek Parkway, travel northwest on Hermitage Road, head north on Manakin Road, then east on Broad Street Road
  • Southbound: Head west on Broad Street Road, travel south on Manakin Road, head southeast on Hermitage, then east on Tuckahoe Creek Parkway
