Hopewell City Treasurer charged with forgery of public records, computer fraud
HOPEWELL, Va. (WRIC) -- Virginia State Police have reportedly arrested the Hopewell City Treasurer for multiple alleged charges including forgery and computer fraud. According to Virginia State Police, the Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation's Richmond Field Office has arrested and charged 39-year-old Shannon Foskey, of Hopewell. According to state police, Foskey has been charged with the following felony charges: Forgery of public records Using a computer as an instrument of forgery Computer fraud Disabling computer software State police confirmed Foskey was released from Riverside Regional Jail on an unsecured bond. "The City Treasurer is a constitutional officer and does not report to the City Manager; therefore, the City has no comments," a Hopewell spokesperson told 8News in response to an email inquiry.
