King William residents no longer under boil water advisory
KING WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The boil water advisory some King William County residents have been under since Tuesday was lifted Thursday evening.
On Tuesday, July 29, King William residents on the Cedar Crest Water System experienced low water pressure -- or lost it entirely -- due to a water main break. Water service was then manually shut off to allow for repairs.
A complete loss of water pressure necessitates a boil water advisory, as it creates a contamination risk. The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) issued such an advisory for residents on the impacted water system Tuesday evening.
Repairs to the water main were completed by Tuesday evening. However, the water advisory could only be lifted after two water samples, taken at certain intervals, came back clean.

According to King William Fire & EMS, the required samples were found to be free of contaminants and the boil water advisory was lifted the evening of Thursday, July 31.
