Lanes closed on I-95 North in Henrico after state police pursuit ends in crash

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Several lanes are closed on a section of Interstate 95 North in Henrico County after a pursuit initiated by Virginia State Police on Tuesday ended in a crash.
At around 1:12 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 5, Virginia State Police attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding on I-95 North near the 70-mile marker, which officials said was traveling 88 miles per hour in a 60 miles per hour zone.
According to authorities, the vehicle refused to stop and a pursuit was initiated. The pursuit continued until the suspect reportedly crashed their vehicle just south of Exit 83 on I-95 North.
State police said there were no reported injuries, and the suspect is in custody.
At around 1:41 p.m., the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) reported that the north center lane, right lane and right shoulder on I-95 near Brook Road were closed due to "police activity."
