Learn how to make zines at Richmond Public Library workshop

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Richmond residents can learn how to make zines, which are typically small, homemade magazines, at a workshop event hosted by Richmond Public Library on Tuesday.

Zines offer a low-cost way to share information, whether used to spread the word about an event or topic, or to share creative works.

From 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 30, at the meeting room inside the Broad Rock Library, attendees can learn about the history and creation of zines.

According to organizers, attendees will have the opportunity to swap zines with others and submit their work to Richmond Public Library's Zine Collection, which will be showcased at the upcoming Richmond Zine Fest, held from Oct. 10 through Oct. 11.

The workshop and swap is an official tie-in event of Read Up Richmond 2025.
