Learn to forage for edible plants in spring at Powhatan State Park
POWHATAN COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Spring has sprung, and nature's bounty surrounds us! Rangers at Powhatan State Park will host an event on Friday where attendees can learn to forage for edible plants this season.
The event will be hosted from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 4, with the group meeting at the Launch A Parking area within the park, located at 4616 Powhatan State Park Rd.
Attendees will learn how to identify certain edible plants and practice responsible foraging while walking throughout the park.
Organizers recommend that visitors bring water and wear comfortable hiking shoes. The walk will be up to 2.5 miles long on easy to moderate trails with some elevation gain.
