LIST: Central Virginia schools going virtual, delayed on Wednesday due to dangerous roads
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Some Central Virginia school districts will shift to virtual learning or operate on a two-hour delay on Wednesday due to dangerous roads.
School districts across Central Virginia were either closed or had virtual learning for the entirety of last week due to the winter storm from the weekend of Jan. 24. As crews work to clear neighborhood roads and ice melts, some drivers continue to experience hazardous driving conditions.
The following district will be closed on Wednesday, Feb. 4:
- Dinwiddie County Public Schools
- Hopewell City Public Schools
- Mecklenburg County Public Schools
- Richmond County Public Schools
The following districts will turn to virtual learning on Wednesday, Feb. 4:
- Caroline County Public Schools
- Essex County Public Schools
- Henrico County Public Schools
- Hanover City Public Schools
- King and Queen County Public Schools
- King William County Public Schools
- Petersburg City Public Schools
- Prince George County Public Schools
The following district will turn to virtual learning on Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 5:
- Hanover County Public Schools
The following districts will be operating on a two-hour delay on Wednesday:
- Amelia County Public Schools
- Buckingham County Public Schools
- Charles City County Public Schools
- Chesterfield County Public Schools
- Colonial Heights Public Schools
- Cumberland County Public Schools
- Fredericksburg City Public Schools
- Goochland County Public Schools
- Louisa County Public Schools
- New Kent County Public Schools
- Northumberland County Public Schools
- Prince Edward County Public Schools
- Richmond Public Schools
- Spotsylvania County Public Schools
- Stafford County Schools
- Sussex County Public Schools
The following districts will be operating on a three-hour delay on Wednesday:
- Fluvanna County Public Schools
