Live! Petersburg generates $4.7 million in revenues within first 10 days

PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) — The Live! Petersburg casino has generated nearly $4.7 million in gaming revenues in the first 10 days that the facility opened its doors.

The Petersburg casino on Wagner Street officially welcomed patrons on Jan. 22. Between Jan. 22 and Jan. 31, Live! Petersburg brought in $4.695 million in total gaming revenues, according to recently released data from the Virginia Lottery.

Most of the casino's revenues came from slots, totaling over $3.9 million and 926 games. The remaining $789,200.30 came from 32 table games, Virginia Lottery data showed.

In total, Virginia's five operating casinos brought in over $81 million last month. This includes about $19.54 million from Hard Rock Bristol, $25.22 million from Rivers Casino Portsmouth, $30.49 million from Caesars Virginia and $1.05 million from The Interim Gaming Hall Norfolk.

Virginia Lottery estimated that about $14.6 million in taxes went toward the Gaming Proceeds Fund.
