LIVE UPDATES: Thousands hit the pavement for River City Half Marathon & 5K
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The River City Half Marathon & 5K is officially underway in Richmond!
More than 3,000 runners signed up for both the half-marathon and the 5K this year. Half-marathoners started their race at 8 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, and 5K runners were not too far behind, starting at 8:20 a.m.
As this year's media sponsor, our 8News team is at the 8-mile mark near the intersection of Park Drive and Shirley Lane to cheer on the participants. You can catch 8News anchor Deanna Allbrittin as the master of ceremonies, as well as reporter Allison Williams and StormTracker8 chief meteorologist Matt Dinardo, out and about at the races.
