SUSSEX COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A Surry man has been convicted in a shooting that killed two people and injured another in Sussex County nearly four years ago.

A jury on Thursday, March 26, found Shelton L. Hardy, of Surry County, guilty of multiple charges in connection with the shooting that left two people dead in 2022. On Nov. 30, 2022, when officers with the Sussex County Sheriff's Office responded to the 200 block of Railroad Ave. for a reported shooting, they found two people dead and another seriously injured.

The deceased victims were later identified as Ronald Ellis and Alexander Ellis, both of Waverly. Police did not say who the third victim was. They had a life-threatening gunshot wound to the chest at the time.
