Louisa County Middle School opens new facility for alternative education

LOUISA COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Louisa County Public Schools has opened a state-of-the-art facility at the middle school on Tuesday to support the school's alternative education project.

At 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 6, the school district held a dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new facility, which supports the middle school's alternative education project.

School officials called it "a major step forward for our community and school division."

The school district said the new addition will include the following:

  • 62,500 square feet of new space
  • 36 added classrooms, each equipped with new tech tools
  • 500 added seats to Louisa County Middle School
  • 200 additional seats in the cafeteria
  • Includes a gymnasium

According to the school district, the ceremony will include middle school staff, board members, county leaders and others.
