LOUISA COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Authorities are looking for a man in connection with an attempted armed robbery that took place Saturday evening at a gas station in Louisa County.

Around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24, a suspect entered the Mineral Express Lane Exxon and demanded money from the register. He was displaying what looked like a handgun at the time, according to the Louisa County Sheriff's Office.

When a customer entered the store during the encounter, the suspect -- identified as an older Black man -- exited the business without obtaining any money, authorities said.

According to the sheriff's office, he drove away in a silver early-2000s Lincoln Continental, heading onto Mineral Avenue. The car had a Virginia tag with the plate VUG2365.
