Male flown to hospital after ATV flips, pins him in Buckingham
BUCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A male was flown to the hospital after an ATV flipped and pinned him in Buckingham County on Monday.
At about 9:40 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 22, first responders with the Buckingham County Department of Emergency Services -- as well as multiple other agencies -- were called to the scene of a flipped ATV after receiving an alert from a Garmin GPS device.
Crews were initially told that a male patient was pinned under the ATV in a cutover in a logging area.
Ultimately, the patient was found down a steep hill about five miles into the logging land. First responders had to use a utility terrain vehicle (UTV) to reach and rescue him.
