Man accused of serial shoplifting across Albemarle, targeting big-box stores

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A Greene County man who authorities believe is a serial shoplifter who targeted big-box stores in Albemarle County has been arrested.

On Wednesday, Sept. 17, officers with the Albemarle County Police Department arrested 36-year-old Brian Tichner of Greene County, who was wanted on multiple shoplifting warrants and for felony credit card theft.

Investigators identified Tichner as a suspect in multiple big-box store thefts across Albemarle. Police said he may also be involved in other theft and shoplifting cases within the county.

Though authorities continue to investigate and additional charges are pending, Tichner is currently facing three charges: felony credit card theft, shoplifting and petit larceny.
