Man arrested after Hopewell Dollar General robbed twice in one week
HOPEWELL, Va. (WRIC) -- A man has been arrested after a Hopewell Dollar General was robbed twice in just a week.
Just before 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 25, officers with the Hopewell Police Department were called to the Dollar General at 310 East Broadway for the report of a burglary.
Investigators learned that a suspect forced their way into the store by breaking the glass of the front door. Once inside, they took an unspecified amount of tobacco products. They then fled.
A week later, at 3:18 a.m. on Tuesday, April 1, officers were called to the same Dollar General for another reported burglary.

Police determined that the suspect entered the store in the same manner as the first burglary: by breaking the glass of the front door. The suspect again took tobacco products, then left the scene.
On Wednesday, April 2, police arrested a Hopewell man in connection with these two incidents, charging him with two counts of burglary.
He is being held in Riverside Regional Jail without bond.
