Man arrested, charged after deadly shooting in Petersburg

PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) -- A man has been arrested and charged following a deadly shooting in Petersburg on Sunday.

At around 4 a.m. on Sunday, June 22, Petersburg police were called to the 50 block of Monument Avenue for the report of a person shot.

When officers arrived on scene, they found a female victim who was shot. According to police, the victim died due to her injuries.

Officials said a suspect, identified as 45-year-old Emmil Bradley, was taken into custody and charged with second-degree murder and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

According to authorities, Bradley is being held without bond.
