Man dead after being found shot multiple times in Chesterfield

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A man is dead after police said officers found him with multiple gunshot wounds in Chesterfield County Thursday evening.

At 9:56 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 21, officers with the Chesterfield County Police Department responded to the 3300 block of Meadowdale Boulevard for the report of an assault with a deadly weapon.

When officers arrived, they found a man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital where police said he was pronounced dead.

Officials said his identity is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
