Man dead after being shot on Sussex Street in Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A man is dead after police say he was shot on Sussex Street in Richmond on Saturday morning.
At 8:52 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 30, officers with the Richmond Police Department were called to the 1900 block of Sussex Street for a report of a person down.
When officers arrived, they found a man on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
