Man dies after being shot on Midlothian Turnpike in Richmond’s Southside

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A man is dead after he was shot on Midlothian Turnpike in Richmond's Southside Thursday night.

At 10:18 p.m. on May 15, officers with the Richmond Police Department responded to the 3800 block of Midlothian Turnpike for the report of a person shot.

When officers arrived, police said they found a man with apparent gunshot wounds.

Police said the man was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where he died due to his injuries.

This deadly shooting follows another that occurred just minutes earlier in Richmond's Southside Thursday evening, which left a man dead and a woman injured, as well as a stabbing that injured a man hours earlier.
