Man dies after shooting in Richmond’s Downtown area

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Following the death of a man who had been shot in Richmond's Downtown area Wednesday evening, police said they are investigating the shooting as a homicide.

At 11:13 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 22, officers with the Richmond Police Department were called to the 500 block of North 8th Street for the report of a person shot.

When officers arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital, where police said he was later pronounced dead.
