Man found shot in Richmond dies at hospital, police investigating

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Richmond Police Department is investigating after a man was found shot in Richmond and later died at a local hospital on Friday afternoon.

At around 6 p.m. on Friday, March 28, Richmond Police officers were called to the 1500 block of Coalter Street for the report of a person shot.

When officers arrived on scene, they found a man down on the ground with a gunshot wound.

According to police, the victim was transported to a local hospital where he died due to his injuries. The medical examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
