Man injured after accidentally shooting himself in Kings Dominion parking lot
HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A man is injured after officials said he accidentally shot himself in the leg in the parking lot of Kings Dominion Wednesday evening.
At approximately 5:41 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, Hanover County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a report of an accidental shooting that took place at 16000 Theme Park Way -- the Kings Dominion parking lot in the county's Doswell area.
According to officials, the investigation determined that a man was holstering a firearm when it accidentally fired, hitting him in the calf. The sheriff's department said witness statements supported the individual's account of what happened.
Hanover Fire and EMS responded urgently and took the man to a nearby hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
