Man seriously injured after pedestrian crash on Midlothian Turnpike in Richmond
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Richmond Police Department is investigating a pedestrian crash that left a man seriously injured after he was hit by a vehicle on Midlothian Turnpike early Thursday morning. At around 6:23 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12, Richmond Police officers were called to the intersection of Midlothian Turnpike and East 29th Street for the report of a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. When officers arrived on scene, they found a man down and injured in the westbound lanes of Midlothian Turnpike after he was struck by a vehicle. According to police, the man was transported to a local hospital with injuries that are considered to be life-threatening. Officials said the driver of the vehicle remained on scene. Police said both directions of Midlothian Turnpike were closed for about an hour to accommodate the investigation. The Richmond Police Department Crash Team is investigating.
