Man shot in McDonald’s restroom, Richmond police investigating

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Richmond Police Department is investigating after a man was shot in the restroom at a McDonald's restaurant in the Upper Shockoe Valley neighborhood.

At 9:59 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 14, officers responded to the McDonald's at 1800 East Broad Street for a reported shooting.

Upon their arrival, officers found a man with an apparent gunshot wound. He was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.

According to a release from the police department, an investigation has determined that the victim was shot by an unknown male while they were both in the restroom.

"The suspect fled on foot," the release reads. "There were no other injuries."
