Man shot, killed outside Richmond City Jail, police investigating
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Richmond Police Department is investigating after it said a man was shot and killed in the parking lot of the Richmond City Justice Center on Monday. According to police, just before noon on Monday, Nov. 4, a Richmond Police Officer was walking through the parking lot of the Richmond City Justice Center, located at the intersection of Fairfield Way and Oliver Hill Way, on their way inside when they heard a gunshot. The officer turned around and saw an adult male, who was down and unresponsive on the far end of the parking lot near Fairfield Way. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators are now working to identify a suspect, anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the shooting or has information related to the incident is asked to call Det.
