Maymont offers merriest holiday artisan market with local vendors
RICHMOND, VA. (WRIC) -- A holiday market is brightening the holiday season this December at Maymont Park, with vendors and handmade gifts.
The park’s Merry Market -- from noon to 5 p.m. on Dec. 6 to Dec. 7, at the Carriage House -- will feature over 75 artisans and small businesses selling a variety of handmade gifts in nearly every type of medium.
Families can visit with Saint Nicholas, take a ride on a holiday train and make their own crafts, all in a festive setting with music, food and cozy fire pits.
“We invite everyone to Maymont to share in the holiday spirit at Merry Market,” said Parke Richeson, President and CEO of Maymont Foundation. “It’s a fun way to support local artisans, gather with friends or family for a little holiday shopping and socializing, and to enjoy the season.”

In addition to the holiday cheer, there will be a holiday train to ride, make-your-own crafts to enjoy, hot cocoa to drink and sweet treats to eat. Visitors can warm up around the fire pit or grab a drink from the Winter Wonder Bar.
Adult tickets are $10 each, while tickets for children ages 1 to 16 are $6. According to a release from Maymont, members and those with the Museums for All program who show a Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)/EBT card can get in free.
Alongside the holiday artisan market, Maymont will host make-your-own Wreath Workshops from Dec. 2 to Dec. 6.
