Maymont’s Bier-Garden returns with beers, brats and family fun

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- 8News got a visit from a special guest on Wednesday to talk about the upcoming Bier-Garden event at Maymont.
8News anchors Autumn Childress and Delaney Hall were joined by Laurie Mavica, director of special events, to talk about what people can expect this weekend.
"It is a weekend of fun, fall activities, great food, great drinks and wonderful entertainment," Mavica said.
The event will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20 and Sunday, Sept. 21 at the Carriage House Lawn located at 1700 Hampton Street.
People will have the chance to see two stein-hoisting competitions, live Polka music, Bavarian dancing and a dachshund parade and costume contest.
Mavica also brought several items to the studio that will be available for purchase at the event, including a lederhosen t-shirt, a hat and a stein.
