Median home prices in Richmond on the rise in 2025, Virginia Realtors says
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- During the first three months of 2025, the median sales price for a home in Richmond was up nearly $20,000 over 2024, according to Virginia Realtors.
On Monday, May 5, Virginia Realtors posted an overview of home prices across nine Virginia metropolitan areas. Analysts looked at median home prices for January through March, then compared them to those same three months in 2024.
Per Virginia Realtors, the median home price in Richmond in 2025 through March is about $389,975. This is a 5.1% increase over that period in 2024, where the median home price was $370,000. That means said median home price has grown by almost $20,000.
When compared to the median house price growth of the other eight metropolitan areas listed, Richmond is ranked 6th. Roanoke, Lynchburg, Charlottesville, Blacksburg and Northern Virginia all saw more significant growth, whereas Hampton Roads, Harrisonburg and Winchester saw lesser growth.

The most expensive median home price was found in Northern Virginia, where it sat at $664,000 for the first three months of 2025, according to Virginia Realtors. The cheapest median home price is that of Blacksburg, at $285,000.
