Motorcyclist dies after driver hits him head-on in Chesterfield
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A motorcyclist has died after police said he was fighting for his life after a driver hit him in a head-on crash in Chesterfield County.
Just after 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 19, officers with the Chesterfield County Police Department were called to the 3600 block of W. Hundred Road for a report of a crash.
Investigators determined that a Dodge Caliber was moving east on W. Hundred Road when it crossed the center line and hit a motorcyclist head-on.
On Friday, June 20, Chesterfield County Police said that the motorcyclist -- identified as 29-year-old Christopher D. Harding, Jr. -- had been taken to an area hospital, where he later died due to his injuries.
The driver of the Dodge Caliber, identified as 56-year-old Bradford G. Jordan, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence.
Additional charges are pending, and Jordan is currently being held at the Chesterfield County Jail.
