Motorcyclist fighting for life after driver hits him head-on in Chesterfield

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A motorcyclist is fighting for his life after police say a driver under the influence hit him head-on in Chesterfield County on Thursday.

Just after 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 19, officers with the Chesterfield County Police Department were called to the 3600 block of W. Hundred Road for report of a crash.

Investigators determined that a Dodge Caliber was moving east on W. Hundred Road when he crossed the center line and hit a motorcyclist head-on.

The motorcyclist, an unidentified man, was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Dodge Caliber, an unidentified man, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence.

Police said West Hundred Road will remain closed until about 6:45 p.m. on Thursday.
