Multi-vehicle crash caused delays on I-64 in New Kent

NEW KENT COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Drivers were delayed on Interstate 64 in New Kent County on Saturday morning due to a multi-vehicle crash.
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) first reported the crash just before 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 28. The crash was located at mile marker 211 on I-64 eastbound, at the Emmaus Church Road interchange.
The left shoulder, left lane and right lane were closed as of 10:40 a.m. Saturday, but roads have since reopened.
Traffic was backed up about 5.5 miles, according to the department.
Drivers were encouraged to seek alternative routes as first responders worked to clear the scene.
