Multiple former Loudoun County Public School students presumed dead in plane crash
ARLINGTON, Va. (WRIC) -- Multiple former students at Loudoun County Public Schools are reportedly victims in the collision of an American Airlines jet and an Army helicopter that occurred Wednesday evening. According to officials, all 60 passengers and four crew members on the plane, as well as three soldiers on the helicopter, are presumed dead following the crash. The plane was found upside-down in multiple sections in waist-deep water in the Potomac River. According to Loudoun County Public Schools, multiple of the victims in the crash were former students in the school system, and many other Loudoun families have also been impacted. According to U.S. Figure Skating, both U.S. and Russian figure skaters were aboard the plane. The school system said mental health professionals were available to provide guidance and support to students and families.
