Multiple people injured after Halloween night hit-and-run in Henrico

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Multiple people who were leaving a house party on Halloween night were injured after a hit-and-run in Henrico County's Varina area.

At around 2:15 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1, officers with the Henrico County Police Division were called to the intersection of Meadow Road and Grapevine Road for a report of several pedestrians hit by a vehicle.

When they arrived, officers found a woman injured in the road and another woman, who was unconscious with signs of trauma, down an embankment.

Both women were taken to an area hospital for treatment, with one critically injured. Henrico Police said several other pedestrians suffered minor injuries due to the crash.

Police said a preliminary investigation reveals the group of pedestrians was walking westbound on Meadow Road after leaving a large house party when a vehicle hit them from behind.

The driver reportedly did not stay on scene, and Henrico Police Crash Investigators are working to identify that vehicle and the cause of the crash.

No further details are available as of the time of reporting.
