National Weather Service issues red flag warning for Central Virginia
RICHMOND, Va. -- The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a red flag warning for Richmond and parts of Central Virginia which will remain in effect until 8 p.m. this evening for Central and eastern Virginia.
According to the NWS, they said,
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior. The National Weather Service
All outdoor burning is also discouraged and Virginia residents are to be reminded that "open burning is prohibited before 4 p.m. each day through April 30th," according to the NWS.
