Nearly $500,000 worth of narcotics seized across Virginia in just one week: Virginia State Police

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Virginia State Police seized nearly $500,000 worth of narcotics in just one week during its ongoing statewide investigation.

During the week of Oct. 8 through Oct. 14, the operation, which is in partnership with supporting federal and local agencies, saw state police seize over 63 pounds of narcotics, more than 640 THC Vapes and seized narcotics valued at $495,822.

The following is a breakdown of recovered narcotics and pills:

  • 1.1 pounds of cocaine
  • 1.4 ounces of crack cocaine
  • 55.6 pounds of marijuana
  • 10.2 ounces of heroin
  • 5 pounds of methamphetamine
  • 13.3 ounces of fentanyl
  • 642 THC vapes

Throughout the week, police also received 16 new human trafficking tips, which totals 1,284.

Authorities also said 216 cases are either being investigated or are currently under investigation by state police, while 3,398 individual investigative activities are currently underway, and 75 victims have been identified and offered services.
