Nearly all scheduled flights canceled at Richmond International Airport
HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- All remaining Sunday flights out of Richmond International Airport (RIC) have been canceled, according to online airline information.
According to the RIC website, all remaining departure flights have been canceled and most arrivals have also been canceled. The only flights still listed as "On Time" are the 9:35 p.m. arrival from Orlando, Fla., and the 11:59 p.m. arrival from Miami, Fla.
An update shared to the airport's website at 7 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 25, explained that the airport would remain open despite the vast majority of flights being canceled.
According to a spokesperson, approximately 140 of the scheduled 144 flights were canceled for the day.
The RIC website recommends that passengers check with their airline to confirm or rebook their flights.
"During inclement weather events, most airlines waive change fees," the RIC website reads. "Use your airline's website, app, chat function or customer service contact to make changes from the comfort of your home or hotel."
A 7:30 p.m. update on Sunday indicated that 37 flights had been canceled for Monday. However, RIC's main terminal and concourse will reportedly remain open.
