New Kent animal shelter is full, asking for adoption or foster help

NEW KENT COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- New Kent County's animal shelter has announced that it is full as of Thursday, and they are asking for adoption or foster help from the community.
New Kent Sheriff's Office Animal Protection Unit posted on Facebook on Thursday, July 3, that their shelter is full and they are out of dog kennels. As a result, if dogs were to run away during firework shows, they would not have any space to house them.
The shelter said they need fosters, adopters or people that have lost their dogs to come pick them up.

For those interested in fostering a dog, the shelter said it can be for a short period if necessary, and people are "given all the supplies [they] could need and more."
If you are willing to help the shelter by adopting or fostering a dog, call 804-966-9500 or head to the shelter located at 6301 Olivet Church Road.
