New Kent singer fights to secure spot in American Idol’s next round

NEW KENT COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- New Kent County singer Grayson Torrence is taking her talents up an octave as she fights to secure her spot in American Idol's top 24.
In a recent post shared by the New Kent County Sheriff's Office, Torrence was spotted singing at New Kent Parks and Rec’s for a sponsored meet and greet.
In a previous interview with 8News, Torrence said it's been her lifelong dream to perform on the show, as she grew up watching American Idol.

The season 23 contestant is one of many artists fighting to move on to the next round, which will air at 8 p.m. EST on Monday, April 7.
