New LEGO exhibit coming to the Science Museum of Virginia, ‘Towers of Tomorrow’
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Calling all LEGO lovers! The Science Museum of Virginia will open its highly anticipated Towers of Tomorrow with LEGO Bricks exhibition on Feb. 1. The Towers of Tomorrow with LEGO Bricks exhibit will be on display at the museum starting Saturday, Feb. 1 through Sunday, Aug. 24 -- which will be included with admission in the museum. Towers of Tomorrow with LEGO Bricks (Science Museum of Virginia) According to the museum, this exhibition will feature 20 of the world's most legendary skyscrapers that are built with great structural details from continents like North America, Asia and Australia. "This exhibition is the perfect combination of hands-on play with materials people know and love, and interpretation through a STEM lens of a topic people experience everyday,” said Timshel Purdum, Virginia C. Ellett Deputy Director for Education. “LEGO bricks plus skyscrapers equals taking sightseeing opportunities to new heights!” These designs were created using more than a half a million LEGO Bricks -- dedicating over 2,000 hours of craftsmanship to create the towers aimed to excite guests of all ages. In addition, the exhibition will feature more than 200,000 loose LEGO's, so that guests can add-on new attachments.
