New Nate’s Bagels location to open Monday in Scott’s Addition
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A new Nate's Bagels location will be opening in Scott's Addition on Monday, June 23. The new location will be at 1219 Highpoint Avenue.
In an Instagram post, the bagel joint said it will be expanding its hours at the new location and will be open seven days a week. The plan is to be open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Nate's Bagels also said the new location will have "special touches" like pizza bagels, a new pickup window area and a new coffee bar with espresso drinks.
This is the second location the popular bagel spot has opened in the Richmond area, with the first at 21 South Allen Avenue.
"Founded in 2017 by Nate Mathews, Nate’s Bagels has grown from a small-batch Carytown operation into a city staple known for its hand-rolled, New York-style bagels, inventive spreads and community-driven ethos," said Nate's director of Operations and Development, Sara Wignall said. "After years of lines out the door and loyal fan support, the brand is ready to bring its signature bagels, breakfast sandwiches, and local coffee pairings to a new corner of Richmond.

“Our goal has always been to make the best bagel in Virginia—and to serve it with a whole lot of heart,” said founder Nate Mathews. “This second location gives us the space and opportunity to share that experience with even more people, and to keep doing what we love at a larger scale.”
Nate’s said the team hand-makes more than 5,000 bagels — all rolled, boiled, and baked in-house — and sells over 1,400 of its famous classic breakfast sandwiches, with a fan favorite featuring egg, cheddar and a choice of protein on a fresh bagel.
In addition to the new storefront, Nate’s said it's also just 30–45 days away from opening a dedicated commissary kitchen.
"This move will significantly increase production capacity and open the door to future expansion— ensuring even more Virginians can get their hands on a Nate’s bagel," the restaurant said.
"This wouldn't be possible without the incredible love and endless support the Richmond community has shown us the past few years, so from the bottom of our hearts: thank you," Nate's wrote on Instagram. "We can't wait to bring our signature bagels, breakfast sandwiches, and local coffee pairings to a new corner of the city!"
